My Story

My journey began in North Carolina. I was born and raised in Greensboro and attended Greensboro Day School, a place that fostered my deep love of learning and  theater. After leaving to study at Dartmouth for my undergraduate degree then Harvard for my masters, (immersing myself in classical theater and even spending time in Moscow), I built a career that blends education, performance, and writing. Now, after 25 years away, I've returned to North Carolina with two decades of experience in Los Angeles and New York as an educator, playwright, and classically trained actor.

My work is rooted in the belief that learning is a process of discovery--one that thrives on curiosity, structure, and a sense of play. Whether I'm guiding students through Shakespeare, strengthening their confidence in math, or shaping a college application, I bring a highly individualized, long-term approach that helps students find both their voices and their agency as learners. My background in theater and storytelling informs everything I do, from developing executive functioning skills to crafting compelling personal narratives for school and college admissions. I don't just prepare students for the next test or application, I help them understand who they are as learners and how to advocate for themselves, in the classroom and beyond.
